Hogganfield Park Local Nature Reserve is located in the northeast of Glasgow, Located in: Seven Lochs Wetland Park and was declared as a Local Nature Reserve by Glasgow City Council in 1998.

It's start was in 1920, when the land was purchased to create the park and was gradually extended over the years. Hogganfield park is a home to many migrant birds and wintering waterbirds and the infamous Whooper Swans in winter. In summer, Water Rails sounds can be heard and overhead Buzzard and Kestrel can be seen. Inside the park you can find Hogganfield Loch; a large, loch that is surrounded by grasslands, marshy ponds and wood.


The park has many facilities such as :

  • Children's play facility.

  • Bird watching from viewing platform.

  • Sandy beaches beside the loch.

  • Picnic tables.

  • Parking spaces

The park is open 24 hours and entrance is free
